Purplo recommends two cloud-based productivity suites for most businesses: Microsoft Office 365 and Google for Work Apps. While slightly different in scope, both application suites provide word processing, data analysis, email, calendaring and storage solutions at a cost-effective monthly per-user price.

  • G-Suite. When you need consistent communication across a variety of different platforms and do the majority of your work away from a desktop computer, then G-Suite Apps may be a good solution. While the Google offering doesn’t provide quite as many bells and whistles as the similar Microsoft service, it is great for Millennials and a younger workforce that’s highly collaborative with others in that genre. Google Hangouts make remote conversations a snap, and documents are quick and easy to share with others. You can even edit documents shared with you in Microsoft Office format and save them natively.
  • Microsoft Office 365. If your workforce is highly comfortable with the current Microsoft Office suite or performs advanced analytics or fully utilizes their productivity suite, Office 365 may be a better option.   • The familiar Office tools are all available on this cloud-based version, which even includes additional products such as Microsoft’s network storage OneDrive and business-class email from a hosted Microsoft Exchange server. Online conferencing is a newer addition, and the web-based version of all your favourite Office suite plus the ability to install on up to 5 machines plus tablets and mobile phones means you’ll always have the information that you need regardless of your physical location.
